Sherlock Holmes and Matthew Watson were on a camping and hiking trip. They had gone to bed and were lying there looking up at the sky. Holmes said, Watson, look up. What do you see? Well, I see thousands of stars. And what does that mean to you? Well, I guess it means we will have another nice day tomorrow. What does it mean to you, Holmes? To me, it means someone has stolen our camping tent.

When I was young, my parents took us kids tent camping. I have great memories of cooking over an open fire, night time shadow puppet shows, and late night ghost stories. And, the best wakeup call of all, the smell of bacon frying over a campfire. Food cooked outdoors just seems to taste better.
We had a blast as we savored Dutch oven cooking, the kids roasted marshmallows and everyone enjoyed playing games by the campfire. I can say from personal experience and with total sincerity that we experienced better family bonding while in a camping tent together than we would have had staying in any hotel or on any ocean cruise liner.
